A) Jeff hardly ever gets to use his vacation days.
B) When we do get to use his vacation days, we normally travel.
C) Thus, my husband really wanted to just have a few days to enjoy the area and sleep in our own bed!
Wednesday we spent a routine morning around the house. Can I tell you, watching my child at play is probably the most entertaining thing in the world. Her imagination is going 100 mph and she does the funniest things in the midst of play. On a side note, when did we become so removed from our child-like imaginations? I don't think anyone sets out to not use it but somewhere along the way, you realize it is gone.
Anyways, my brother stopped by in time for dinner on Wednesday evening. He is in the midst of a move and we were a good stopping point during his travels. We went to a diner called Doumar's. It has been featured on the Travel Channel and Food Network. One of those places that has been around for ages and features good, 'ole classic burgers, fries, and ice cream. In fact, they are known for their fresh rolled waffle cones. We all enjoyed our meals immensely!
If you live in our area, you have to try this place out!
Our waffle cones were still warm and sooo delicious!
No frills kind of ice cream but it was delicious!
Our grub - yum!
My brother enjoying his cherry-limeade.
Best cherry-limeade ever!
Naomi hanging out with her Uncle A. She just wanted some snuggle time since she was having a rough morning.
Friday morning my brother hit the road very early! Our fun for the day was Naomi's first haircut! Wahoo! Little miss was a gem and you can read all about our experience here. Friday night we had a family party to attend.
Snip, snip!
Is the idea of a "stay-cation" a new concept for you? We are definitely up for another one since there is so much to do in our area that we routinely pass up or don't take the time to do!
